Optimizing Service Function Chaining Migration With Explicit Dynamic Path

چکیده

Network Function Virtualization (NFV) can support customized on- demand network services with flexibility and cost-efficiency. Virtual (VNF) instances need to be scaled out, in, reallocated across the NFV infrastructure (NFVI) avoid a violation of service agreements when traffic changes. However, selecting new placement VNFs for migrating function chain (SFC) is an issue efficient control. We propose two novel integer linear programming (ILP) models approximation algorithms SFC migration maximize cost-efficiency regarding changes demands dynamic routing. The ILP allow us obtain optimal solutions explicit paths. results provided by our proposed heuristic reinforcement learning are close solution. Evaluation carried out real datasets synthetic topologies provide helpful suggestion strategy provider optimize operating cost in long term.

Orchestrating Service Function Chaining in Cloud Environments

The rapid emergence of Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) concepts is enabling the innovation of cloud infrastructures for supporting real time services and applications. Interconnecting Service Functions (SFs) in a specific ordered way to support applications’ requirements is defining the concept of Service Function Chaining (SFC). SFC uses those evolved ...

A survey on service function chaining

Cloud computing is gaining significant attention and virtualized datacenters are becoming popular as a costeffective infrastructure. The network services are transitioning from a host-centric to a data-centric model moving the data and the computational resources closer to the end users. To meet the dynamic user demands, network operators have chosen to use elastic virtual resources to implemen...

SICS: Secure In-Cloud Service Function Chaining

There is an increasing trend that enterprises outsource their network functions to the cloud for lower cost and ease of management. However, network function outsourcing brings threats to enterprises’ privacy since the cloud is able to access the traffic and rules of in-cloud network functions. Current tools for secure network function outsourcing either incur large performance overhead or do n...

Joint Energy Efficient and QoS-aware Path Allocation and VNF Placement for Service Function Chaining

Service Function Chaining (SFC) allows the forwarding of a traffic flow along a chain of Virtual Network Functions (VNFs, e.g., IDS, firewall, and NAT). Software Defined Networking (SDN) solutions can be used to support SFC reducing the management complexity and the operational costs. One of the most critical issues for the service and network providers is the reduction of energy consumption, w...
